An Aylmer man is facing impaired and stunt driving charges following an early morning traffic stop in late March.
The Aylmer Police Service say an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on John Street South around 12:38 a.m. on March 27th. Radar confirmed the vehicle was travelling 101 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.
Police say a traffic stop was conducted, where the officer detected an odour of alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered, resulting in a failure.
The driver was arrested and transported to the police station for further testing, where breath samples allegedly showed blood alcohol levels over the legal limit.
As a result, a 39-year-old Aylmer man has been charged with stunt driving and impaired operation.
