A public meeting will be held this evening (Monday) to garner input on a temporary bylaw that would allow outdoor swimming lessons to continue at a residence on Philip Street in St. Thomas.
Joy Dawdy has been offering the lessons for more than three decades, however, she received an anonymous letter complaining about noise and parking, in what the individual described as an illegal business operating out of her home.
The bylaw would allow up to six students per lesson, running June through September on any day between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Following the public meeting, staff will prepare a report providing a summary of feedback received and including any recommended revisions to the draft Bylaw.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall.
