In recognition of Earth Day on April 22, the City of St. Thomas is hosting a Community Cleanup.
It begins on Wednesday and runs through to May 12, the Provincial Day of Action on Litter.
Residents, businesses, schools and community groups are encouraged to help clean up parks, trails, neighbourhoods and public spaces.
Participants can choose a time that works best for them between April 22 and May 12.
The city will provide cleanup supplies to registered participants – all you need to do is sign up, pick a location, and get cleaning.
You can register for the cleanup here.
Can’t make it out for a cleanup? Here are other ways to make an impact:
• Reduce waste by donating usable items to second-hand stores
• Recycle and compost to divert waste from landfills
• Choose reusable items and reduce packaging
• Properly dispose of waste in the appropriate bins
