Ontario high school students will soon be required to pass a financial literacy test in order to graduate, under new rules announced by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
Education Minister Paul Calandra says the move is intended to ensure students develop practical money management skills.
The test will be part of the Grade 10 career studies curriculum, with students needing at least 70 per cent to pass.
Those who do not succeed initially will be given additional support and opportunities to rewrite the test.
