An upcoming open house at the Ignite Youth Centre will give the community a chance to see firsthand how the space is supporting young people across St. Thomas-Elgin.
The event, set for May 9th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature a barbecue, games, and a youth market, all aimed at highlighting the free programs and welcoming environment Ignite provides for youth aged 12 to 18.
For those unfamiliar, Ignite offers a range of weekly programming, explains Manager Chantelle Stringle, all designed to give youth a place to connect and grow.
This year’s open house will also shine a spotlight on youth creativity, with a market featuring handmade items crafted by participants.
Executive Director Jodi Annett-Kish says spaces like Ignite play a key role in the community, offering not just activities, but support and connections for youth who may need it.
The centre has also seen significant growth over the past year, with more youth accessing its services shares Stringle.
More information on programming can be found on the Ignite Youth Centre’s website and social media pages.
