Today (Friday) marks the first day of the nomination period for the 2026 municipal election.
Nominations must be submitted in person, and must be accompanied with the filing fee of $200 if seeking the office of mayor or $100 if seeking the office of councillor or trustee.
Nomination forms must also be accompanied by an Endorsement of Nomination form, containing the signatures of 25 qualified electors.
The deadline for filing nomination papers is 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21.
Voting Day is Monday, October 26, with remote internet and telephone voting taking place from October 13-26.
