With warmer weather here, drivers are being reminded to watch for more farm equipment on local roads as farmers move between fields.
The OPP are reminding motorists to be patient and share the road safely with slow-moving vehicles.
Farm equipment often travels around 35 km/h and is marked with an orange slow-moving vehicle sign. Drivers are asked to slow down, stay alert, and be ready to stop when needed.
Police say it is important to watch carefully for turns, as some tractors use hand signals. Large farm equipment may also make wide turns, so drivers should be cautious even if a vehicle moves to the right.
Motorists are also reminded that farm equipment may be wider than a single lane and can have parts that are hard to see. Drivers should pass carefully when it is safe to do so, and avoid slowing down or stopping suddenly after passing.
Police say farm equipment cannot always pull over safely, so patience is important when sharing the road.
