As communities across the country recognize Emergency Preparedness Week, residents in St. Thomas will have a chance to learn more about emergency response in a fun, family-friendly setting.
The Salvation Army St. Thomas Church and Community Ministries is hosting its annual Emergency Preparedness Week and Messy Church Carnival on Friday, May 8th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 380 Elm Street.
The free community event will feature a meal, activities, carnival games, and the opportunity to connect with local emergency responders and community organizations.
Attendees will also be able to explore emergency vehicles and equipment while learning more about the important work being done by first responders and support agencies throughout the region.
Participating organizations include the St. Thomas Police Service, St. Thomas Fire Department, Elgin-St. Thomas Paramedic Services, St. John Ambulance, Victim Services Elgin, Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services, local K-9 teams, and more.
The event is open to all ages, and no registration is required.
