A 32-year-old Aylmer woman is facing charges following an investigation by the Aylmer Police Service into an alleged case of elder abuse.
Police say the investigation began after a concerned caretaker contacted authorities and reported that an elderly person showed signs of being assaulted. Officers launched a review into the circumstances surrounding the report.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged the 32-year-old woman with assault on an elderly family member.
The accused was taken into custody and released on conditions not to be near the victim
Police say support services and resources are currently being arranged to assist the victim.
