Ontario Provincial Police have shared that an individual was safely rescued from Lake Erie last week after a response in the Port Bruce area.
Elgin County OPP were called to the shoreline on Thursday, May 14th, just before 2:40 p.m., after receiving a report of a suspicious person in the water.
During the investigation, an officer entered Lake Erie, where, with assistance from other officers on scene, the individual was safely brought back to shore. Police say the person was not physically injured.
OPP say the officer’s actions were key to the safe outcome and reflect their ongoing commitment to protecting life and serving the community.
