The St. Thomas community came together in a big way during this year’s Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in support of the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
Seven Tim Hortons locations in St. Thomas participated in the week-long fundraiser, with 100 per cent of Smile Cookie proceeds donated locally to the Foundation.
Executive Director Ryan Byrne shared that a total of $76,562 was raised during the campaign, which will fund specialized medical equipment in the hospital’s ICU.
Smile Cookie funds will go toward the purchase of a new defibrillator and transport monitors, helping provide lifesaving care for patients at STEGH.
Nearly $600,000 has now been raised in support of the STEGH Foundation, thanks to the sale of Tim Hortons Smile Cookie.
