LemonAID Day is back this Saturday, with dozens of lemonade stands expected to pop up across St. Thomas and Elgin County in support of local children.
Now in its third year, the fundraiser for the Elgin Children’s Foundation has grown into a community-wide event, bringing together families, businesses, schools, and organizations with a shared goal: helping send local kids to summer camp.
Presented in partnership with Doug Tarry Homes, LemonAID Day has seen incredible growth since its launch in 2024. The inaugural event raised nearly $13,000 through 25 stands, while last year’s campaign brought in close to $22,000 with 40 participating locations.
Myles Proulx, Volunteer and Community Engagement Advocate with Family and Children’s Services of St. Thomas and Elgin County, says organizers are hoping to build on that momentum once again this year.
Beyond the fundraising, Proulx says LemonAID Day has become an opportunity for the community to come together and support local children.
Funds raised help provide summer camp experiences for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend. Proulx says those experiences can have a lasting impact on a child’s confidence, friendships, and sense of belonging.
Community members are encouraged to visit participating lemonade stands throughout the day, enjoy a cold drink, and help make a difference for local kids.
myFM has teamed up with our friends at Abode Home Comfort to host our very own LemonAID Stand on June 13th at the Real Canadian Superstore in St. Thomas. Stop by to see us day-of, or support our online campaign here!
A map of all participating locations will be shared here.
