A 25-year-old St. Thomas man is facing several charges following a disturbance in the city’s downtown Wednesday evening.
According to St. Thomas Police, officers were called to the 800 block of Talbot Street after reports of an altercation between two people. Police say a man allegedly assaulted a woman before throwing a chair at the window of a nearby business.
Officers located the individuals involved and launched an investigation.
As a result, the 25-year-old man was charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm, and assault with a weapon.
Police say a search conducted during the arrest also uncovered a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. The accused was additionally charged with possession of a Schedule I substance.
He was processed by police and held in custody for a morning court appearance.
