An Aylmer man is facing several charges following an impaired driving investigation earlier this month.
Aylmer Police say an officer was conducting patrols on Sydenham Street West around 9:20 p.m. on June 20 when a motorcycle was observed failing to stop at a stop sign and being operated aggressively.
Police conducted a traffic stop and, while speaking with the driver, detected signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside screening test was administered, resulting in a fail.
The driver was arrested and officers subsequently located brass knuckles during the investigation.
The accused was transported to the Aylmer Police Service station, where further breath testing confirmed blood alcohol levels exceeding the legal limit.
As a result, a 37-year-old Aylmer man has been charged with impaired operation over 80 milligrams, possession of a prohibited weapon, and disobeying a stop sign.
Police say the accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
