Southwestern Public Health is seeking the public’s help in identifying a dog involved in a bite incident Thursday in Shedden.
It occurred around 11 a.m. at the pavilion located on the soccer fields at Corsley Park.
The individual was under the pavilion when a dog on a retractable leash approached them and bit their leg.
The dog was described as a medium-sized black/grey poodle.
The owner was described as a male, in his mid-fifties, about 5’10” tall with an average build, grey hair, and a medium-length grey beard. He was also walking a second medium-sized beige poodle on a retractable leash.
The health unit wants to confirm the vaccination status of the dog to allow the victim and their health care provider to determine next steps related to rabies post-exposure prophylaxis.
If you are the owner of the dog or have information about the incident, please contact Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 and ask to speak with a Public Health Inspector.
