Aylmer Police are investigating after hateful graffiti was spray-painted throughout the skate park at Optimist Park.
Police say a concerned citizen reported the vandalism around 7:15 p.m. on June 22. When officers arrived, they found the skate pad and ramps covered in black spray paint, including offensive and hateful language and images.
Investigators recovered evidence at the scene and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area as they work to identify those responsible.
The Town of Aylmer estimates it will cost approximately $700 to repair and repaint the damaged equipment.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity at Optimist Park between the evening of June 21 and the morning of June 22, or who has information that could assist the investigation, is asked to contact the Aylmer Police Service at 519-773-3144.
