Here’s what’s going on in St. Thomas and Elgin County over the next 48 hours.
Today: Take in Storytime at the St. Thomas Public Library on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Carnegie Room. Storytimes are made for caregivers and little ones to explore books together. Ages 1+
Today: The Long Weekend by Norm Foster takes the stage at Port Stanley Festival Theatre, June 10th-July 4th. Is the grass always greener on the other side? Canada Day Festivities!
Join the Gay Lea Dairy Museum & Co-operative Education Centre for Canada Day fun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring scavenger hunts, outdoor games & activities, museum tours, crafts, the bouncy cow, ice cream, and more.
The Township of Southwold will kick things off Tuesday with their annual Canada Day celebration taking place at the Shedden Keystone Complex beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Municipality of Dutton-Dunwich has an all-day event planned featuring the Fire Department Breakfast at 8 a.m. and a packed lineup of activities before the fireworks display at dusk.
In Port Burwell, the Canada Day Parade kicks off at the Royal Canadian Legion beginning at 10:30 a.m. There will also be a Harvard formation flyover taking place.
Belmont residents will make their way to Don Yeck Park following the OPP Bicycle Safety & Obstacle Course and annual Decorated Bicycle Parade at 10 a.m. From 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., a hot dog lunch, cake and face painting will be available at the pavilion. Fireworks at dusk!
Canada Day celebrations in West Elgin will take place at Miller Park in West Lorne. Opening ceremonies get underway at 3 p.m. at the Pavilion, with family-friendly activities running until 8 p.m., followed by the fireworks show at dusk.
For St. Thomas, the celebration returns to 1Password Park this year! Scheduled events start at 4 p.m., with the welcome speech and free ice cream cake courtesy of The Ice Box taking place around 6 p.m. Between the free face painting, inflatables, games, petting zoo, and vendors set up throughout, there will be something for everyone!
The Town of Aylmer’s celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. from the East Elgin Community Complex. There’ll be something for the whole family, with live entertainment, a petting zoo, face painting, a photo booth and more.

- The London Majors host the Barrie Baycats on Wednesday at Labatt Park. First pitch is 6:05. They’ll also host the Barnstormers on Friday at 7:35.
League2 Ontario Soccer
- The Railway City FC Women’s Team takes on St. Catharines Roma on Wednesday at 5 p.m. @ Club Roma.
- The Railway City FC Men’s Team hosts St. Catharines Roma on Saturday at 7 p.m. @ 1Password Park.
