Families looking for a way to get the kids out of the house will have a chance to connect with local police officers this week, while enjoying an afternoon of games and activities.
The St. Thomas Police Service is bringing back its annual Boredom Busters event Wednesday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year, the fun moves from its previous location near police headquarters to 1Password Park, explains Corporate Communications Coordinator Samantha Wakefield.
Kids can spend the day playing basketball, soccer and road hockey, cooling off at the splash pad, or enjoying chalk, bubbles and freezies alongside members of the St. Thomas Police Service.
Administrative staff and Victim Services Elgin will also be on hand, allowing participants to interact with one another in a relaxed, community setting.
The event is free to attend, and no registration is required. Families are welcome to drop in at any point during the four-hour event and stay for as long as they’d like.
Wakefield does remind participants that they must be accompanied by an adult.
