The registration deadline is approaching for the Thames Valley District School Board’s free High School, Here I Come! program, designed to prepare incoming students for the realities of secondary school life.
The program will be delivered on-site over two days at all TVDSB secondary schools in St. Thomas and Elgin County, including Central Elgin Collegiate Institute, East Elgin Secondary School, Parkside Collegiate Institute, and West Elgin Secondary School.
Students will be assigned to one of two sessions: Monday, August 17th – Tuesday, August 18th, or Wednesday, August 19th – Thursday, August 20th.
Participants will explore study strategies, time management, literacy and numeracy learning skills, and gain insight into the social and emotional transition to high school. The program also encourages involvement in extracurricular activities as a way to meet new people and build school spirit.
Registration closes Wednesday, August 5th at noon.
