St. Thomas Police were contacted Sunday by members of the RCMP in Alberta who had taken a statement from a resident related to an incident that occurred here.
The complainant believes that while his mother was residing in a care home in St. Thomas, another family member convinced her to sign power of attorney documents and then began to siphon money out of her accounts.
The matter has been sent to the St. Thomas Police Service criminal investigations unit.
