A simple scoop of ice cream is once again bringing the community together for a good cause.
Elgin—St. Thomas—London South MP Andrew Lawton is hosting his second annual Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the CASO Station Boardwalk.
While donations are appreciated, they’re not required. Lawton says the afternoon is meant to give residents a chance to enjoy a free ice cream and spend some time with neighbours.
Shaw’s Ice Cream will once again be served from its trailer on-site, bringing a local favourite to the downtown event.
Last year’s event brought in a truckload of food and additional cash donations that directly helped support local families in need.
