A former Aylmer resident is facing multiple charges following a historical sexual assault investigation involving a youth.
Aylmer Police say they launched the investigation after a youth disclosed alleged incidents that are reported to have occurred between October and December 2022 at a residence in the Town of Aylmer.
Police say the accused, a 43-year-old man, was known to the victim and had previously been in a relationship with the victim’s mother.
As a result of the investigation, the man has been charged with sexual assault on a person under the age of 16, sexual interference, and sexual exploitation.
Police say the accused was arrested by the Huron County OPP and later released with conditions.
