A city resident is out nearly $100,000 after falling victim to a romance scam.
On Tuesday (Aug. 11), the victim contacted police about an individual they had been dating for several months.
They had been using an alias and ultimately bilked them out of the funds.
Through investigation is was determined the person had previously been linked to similar scams involving several victims.
Additional information is being provided to police to continue the investigation.
