A 66-year-old Aylmer man is facing charges following a criminal harassment investigation involving a former partner.
St. Thomas Police say they received a complaint on August 22 after the complainant reported repeatedly receiving unwanted contact from their ex-partner, despite being asked to stop.
Police say nearly 150 voicemails had been accumulated. The complainant also provided investigators with a recorded conversation in which they told the accused to stop contacting them or attending their residence.
Police say the accused acknowledged the request, but resumed contact about a week later.
During the investigation, police also received additional information about an alleged choking incident.
The 66-year-old was charged with criminal harassment and assault causing bodily harm by choking, suffocating or strangling.
Aylmer Police assisted in locating and arresting the accused on August 23. The accused was taken to St. Thomas Police headquarters for processing and held for a court appearance.
