The St. Thomas Police Service is rallying the community today to help local students get ready for the new school year.
The 2026 Back-to-School Supply Drive is happening today at the St. Thomas Walmart on Talbot Street, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Officers and community partners will be on site collecting new school supplies for students in need. Samantha Wakefield, Corporate Communications Coordinator with the St. Thomas Police Service, explains why community support is so important each year.
The drive is once again being hosted in partnership with Doug Tarry Homes as they work together to help fill backpacks with school essentials. Wakefield breaks down what they’re hoping to collect today.
Cash donations are also being accepted and will be used to purchase supplies that are still needed.
All donations will be distributed to elementary schools across St. Thomas to help make sure students and teachers have the supplies they need before the first day of school.
