Unifor members at General Motors have overwhelmingly voted to ratify new three-year contracts covering more than 4,600 autoworkers in Ontario.
The agreements raise wages to $50.20 an hour for full-rate production workers and $62.71 for skilled trades, along with three-per-cent annual wage increases.
Unifor says the deals include more than one-billion dollars in investments at GM facilities in Oshawa and St. Catharines, while the union continues pushing to bring production back to the CAMI Assembly Plant in Ingersoll.
Members in Oshawa, St. Catharines and Woodstock voted 80.5 per cent in favour, while Ingersoll members supported the agreement by 96.5 per cent.
