The DaSilva Racing Shootout is set to take over the St. Thomas Dragway September 18th-20th and promises a mix of racing, entertainment, and activities for the whole family.
Organizer Joe DaSilva says the event is designed to feel more like a festival, with a drag race in the middle of it.
The weekend will feature a car show with hundreds of vehicles, a kids’ zone, free Hot Wheels for children under 12, food vendors, camping and a number of high-powered attractions.
That includes the world’s fastest jet truck, jet cars, wheelie cars and a wheelie fire truck.
Saturday night will feature the event’s Night of Fire, including an expanded fireworks display and a showcase of jet-powered vehicles.
New this year, shares DaSilva, is a special competition featuring three groups of gassers and Super Stock racers.
Weekend passes are available for $95, with discounts available for seniors, while children under 12 get in free.
And while there is so much to look forward to during this year’s Shootout, DaSilva shared that the best is yet to come.
