A 64-year-old Malahide resident has died in a two-vehicle collision Friday morning south of Aylmer.
According to Elgin OPP, just after 6:30 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a collision between an SUV and an e-bike at the intersection of Imperial Road and John Wise Line.
The e-bike rider succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
The 39-year-old driver of the SUV who is visiting from Ireland, and their seven passengers, were uninjured.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, Imperial Road remained closed between Van Patter Line and Calton Line. John Wise Line is closed between Rogers Road and Hacienda Road.
Elgin OPP is conducting the investigation, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by the OPP West Region Traffic Enforcement and Management Team and OPP Forensic Identification Services.
