An active police investigation in the area of Elm Street and Parkside Drive on Sunday afternoon has resulted in numerous charges in an intimate partner violence incident.
The heavy police presence included members of the Critical Incident Response Team, Criminal Investigations Branch, K-9 unit, and uniform patrol.
The accused was taken into custody without further incident and held for court.
They have been charged with:
• Assault causing bodily harm – choking
• Uttering threats to cause death
• Three counts of fail to comply with release order
• Fail to comply with probation order
St. Thomas Police advise that in order to protect the identity and privacy of the victim, no further information regarding the circumstances of the incident will be released.
