A St. Thomas business is celebrating another year in the community by helping make sure local families have access to food when they need it.
Guac Mexi Grill on Talbot Street is marking its anniversary on September 20th by donating 50 per cent of the day’s proceeds to the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank.
The restaurant says giving back felt like a natural way to celebrate, after the community has supported the business throughout its journey in St. Thomas.
Guac Mexi Grill says the 50 per cent donation will allow it to cover its normal operating costs for the day, while giving up any profit from the anniversary celebration so the remaining proceeds can go toward helping people in the community.
The restaurant is also continuing to collect donations for Food Banks Canada through the end of December.
It’s a great chance for residents to enjoy a meal, celebrate a local business, and at the same time help support an organization working to put food on the tables of local families.
