Construction work supporting the future twinning of Highway 3 switches to Stage 2 today (Wednesday) with motorists facing an extended road closure and detours through St. Thomas.
With Stage 1 completed, Hwy. 3 from First Avenue to Centennial Avenue is now open.
Stage 2 will shift the closure westward.
Highway 3 will be fully closed between Wellington Road and First Avenue, while the westbound on-ramp and eastbound off-ramp at the First Avenue interchange will also be closed.
This stretch of roadway is expected to be closed until Nov. 15.
