St. Thomas Police were called to the area of Curtis Street and Mondamin Street after receiving a report of someone damaging a fire hydrant.
Police say when officers arrived, the individual became belligerent and threw an open alcohol container at an officer, striking them in the face.
The individual was arrested and charged with mischief, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, and offences under the Liquor and Tobacco Tax Act.
The accused was held for a morning court appearance.
