With the municipal election approaching, residents of the Township of Southwold are being reminded to return their mail-in ballots as soon as possible, with October 15 being the recommended deadline to mail completed ballot packages through Canada Post.
Southwold is using a vote-by-mail system for the municipal election, meaning eligible voters must complete and return their ballot packages rather than voting in person or online.
Residents are encouraged to get their ballots in the mail by October 15 to help ensure they arrive in time to be counted.
Those who miss the mailing deadline can also drop off their completed ballot package at the Township office until 8 p.m. on Election Day, Monday, October 26.
For residents unable to make it to the office during regular business hours, a secure after-hours mail slot is available to the left of the Township office’s main entrance.
Ballot packages must be received by 8 p.m. on October 26 to be counted. Residents are encouraged not to leave returning their ballots until the last minute to avoid missing the deadline.
