A 44-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly taking a vehicle without the owner’s permission.
St. Thomas police say they were contacted Thursday after the man drove away from a residence in a vehicle he had not been authorized to use.
Investigators determined the man was in London, prompting officers to notify London police. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to stop.
Further investigation revealed the man had allegedly removed a GPS monitoring device required under his release order. Police also confirmed he was prohibited from driving and had additional licence suspensions.
The man is charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, failing to comply with a release order, two counts of operation while prohibited, and two counts of driving while under suspension.
Police say a warrant for his arrest has been requested.
