The holiday season will bring visitors inside four unique Aylmer-area homes this month, as the Aylmer-Malahide Museum and Archives prepares for its 22nd annual Christmas Tour of Homes.
Organized by museum volunteers, the annual fundraiser gives ticket holders an opportunity to tour four local homes decorated for the holidays, with décor provided by local businesses.
Collections Manager Sarah Bentley says the homes are selected each year based on their history, unique features, and architecture, with new properties featured annually.
Bentley says the community response has been tremendous so far this year, with ticket orders already coming in from as far away as the Greater Toronto Area.
This year’s Christmas Tour of Homes takes place November 13th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., November 14th from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., and November 15th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets are $25 each and are available at the Aylmer-Malahide Museum and Archives, as well as several local retailers in Aylmer, Port Stanley, St. Thomas, and Tillsonburg.
Proceeds support the operation of the museum and the ongoing care of its collection of artifacts.
