With fall settling in, the Municipality of Central Elgin is reminding residents and visitors of several seasonal changes to public facilities and parking.
Washrooms at municipal parks and beaches were closed and winterized following the Thanksgiving weekend, including the washroom trailer at Little Beach.
However, public washrooms at the Port Stanley Visitor Centre remain open year-round, daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Washrooms are also available at Belmont and Port Stanley arenas during regular operating hours.
The Port Stanley Pier is now closed for the season, while parking in municipal lots in Port Stanley has been free since October 1st and will remain that way until next summer. Drivers are reminded to follow all posted parking signs and regulations.
Another change takes effect November 15th, when overnight parking of personal vehicles on municipal streets will be prohibited between 3 and 5 a.m.
Parks and sports fields remain open year-round, although multi-court netting will be removed in the coming weeks, weather permitting.
More information about seasonal changes is available through the Municipality of Central Elgin’s website.
