St. Thomas Seniors Got Talent is returning for a fourth year, giving residents aged 55 and over another chance to take the spotlight.
The annual event, presented by Boomers & Beyond Magazine in partnership with the St. Thomas Seniors Centre, brings together local performers for an evening celebrating talent, community and a whole lot of fun.
Geoff Rae with Boomers & Beyond Magazine says the event has continued to surprise audiences with the talent found right here in the community.
This year’s auditions are coming up October 7th, with organizers still looking for performers interested in taking part.
Ten performers will ultimately be selected for the big show, which takes place November 7th at the St. Thomas Seniors Centre.
The evening will feature three celebrity judges, whose identities will remain a surprise until show night. The 10 performers will take the stage in two groups of five, with last year’s winner, Tom Martin, also returning for a special encore performance while the judges deliberate.
Rae says one of the most rewarding parts of the night is seeing performers step into the spotlight and leave feeling like stars.
And while the performers are the stars of the evening, the event also has a local cause at its heart.
All ticket proceeds will support the Barry Family Hospice of Elgin, with more than $8,000 raised for the organization over its first three years.
Tickets to St. Thomas Seniors Got Talent are $20 and will be available at the St. Thomas Seniors Centre beginning Thursday, October 1st.
