Port Stanley will host a special community celebration tomorrow commemorating Oneida Landing Day of 1840.
The Port Stanley Village Association is partnering with Oneida Nation of the Thames and Heritage Port for the event, taking place Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. around Little Beach.
The afternoon will feature traditional lacrosse demonstrations, Indigenous foods, smoke dances, and Indigenous craft vendors.
There will also be opportunities for people to learn more about Oneida history and heritage.
Organizers say the gathering is intended to bring the community together to listen, learn, and respectfully celebrate the living culture and heritage of the Oneida people.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the event.
