St. Thomas voters will have nearly two weeks to cast their ballots in the 2026 municipal election.
The City’s voting period begins Tuesday, October 13 at 10 a.m. and runs until Monday, October 26 at 8 p.m.
Voting will be available by internet and telephone.
Residents can confirm they are on the voters’ list and check their information through the City’s voter services website.
Anyone who is not on the list, or needs to update their information, can submit an Application to Amend the Voters’ List at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Identification is required when making an amendment.
Applications can also be submitted at any of the City’s Voter Assistance Centres, which will be available throughout the voting period.
Those locations and times are:
- Thursday, October 15, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Elgin Centre
- Wednesday, October 21, from noon to 4 p.m. at the St. Thomas Seniors’ Centre
- Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Elgin Centre
- Monday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the St. Thomas Public Library
The City says Voter Information Letters were mailed in late September. Residents are encouraged to keep their letter, as it includes important information about their voting options and what they need to cast their ballot online.
During the election, voters will choose a Mayor, up to eight Councillors and one English Separate School Board Trustee.
The English Public, French Public and French Separate School Board Trustee positions have all been acclaimed.
To vote, residents must be at least 18 years old on October 26, be a Canadian citizen, and either live in St. Thomas, own or rent property in the city, or be the spouse of someone who owns or rents property in the city.
