Aylmer police are investigating a break-and-enter at a vacant commercial property on John Street North.
Police say officers responded on October 15 to a report of a suspicious man entering the property at 187 John Street North, the former Home Hardware lumber yard.
Officers searched the building but did not find anyone inside. Further investigation uncovered signs of forced entry and evidence suggesting someone may have been staying in the building for several days.
Police also found damage to a second building on the property.
The suspect is described as approximately six feet tall with a thin build. He was reportedly wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black toque and blue jeans, and carrying a backpack.
