For homeowners looking to refresh their space, KG Flooring Installations is offering flooring options, installation services, and renovation expertise at its new St. Thomas storefront.
Located at 184 Sunset Drive, the business gives customers the opportunity to browse flooring samples in person and get help choosing the right materials for their homes.
Owner Kenny Griffiths says his path into the flooring industry began after moving to Canada from Jamaica in 2017, where he had already been working in construction.
KG Flooring Installations was officially established in 2020 and has grown through customer relationships and subcontracting work. After starting the business in the London area, Griffiths says opening a storefront in St. Thomas was the next step in expanding the company and creating opportunities to employ more people.
The business offers installation of hardwood, engineered hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, and tile, along with kitchen backsplashes and bathroom renovations.
Griffiths says having a storefront also allows the team to work directly with customers as they decide what will work best in their homes.
From comparing different flooring styles to figuring out measurements, the team helps homeowners navigate the options available and find products suited to their space.
Since opening in St. Thomas, Griffiths says the business has welcomed customers looking for estimates and has already completed several local jobs.
He adds that one of the most rewarding parts of running the business is being able to help homeowners and builders bring their projects to life.
Griffiths also credits his team for helping the business grow, describing them as a small family focused on supporting customers and delivering quality work.
For anyone considering an indoor renovation this fall, Griffiths encourages homeowners to start exploring their options.
KG Flooring Installations is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with after-hours appointments available by phone.
