With winter approaching, the YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin is once again offering free winter essentials to help keep local residents warm.
The Together for Warmth Coat Selection Days are taking place today and tomorrow, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the YWCA in St. Thomas.
Winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and socks will be available for children, youth, and adults at no cost, while supplies last. Everyone from St. Thomas and Elgin County is welcome, and there’s no judgment for those who need a little extra help staying warm.
Last year, 578 people accessed the program, receiving 667 coats and hundreds of winter accessories.
Those attending are asked to enter through the side door of the gym at the YWCA at 16 Mary Street.
