Former Aylmer Police Chief Zvonko Horvat is heading to Norfolk County council after winning the Ward 6 race in Monday’s municipal election.
Horvat defeated three other candidates, Ray Hunter, Bill Jukes and Pam Taylor, to secure the seat. He will replace Adam Veri, who ran for mayor instead of seeking re-election in Ward 6.
During his campaign, he said he would draw on his experience with Norfolk OPP and Aylmer Police to scrutinize the municipal budget and help keep costs down for taxpayers.
