A 33-year-old St. Thomas man is facing additional charges after police say they found suspected drugs during a warrant arrest.
St. Thomas police say officers were on general patrol Sunday morning when they located the man asleep inside a vehicle parked on Talbot Street.
After waking him and confirming his identity, officers discovered an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He had previously been charged with failing to comply with a probation order after not attending court-ordered probation in October.
Police say a search following the arrest uncovered suspected crack cocaine, resin and fentanyl, with an estimated street value of approximately $1,340.
The man now faces three additional charges for Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine, Fentanyl, and Other.
He was processed at police headquarters and later released on an undertaking. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
