Keeping a community safe takes more than police enforcement. It also means connecting people with the right supports, resources, and services before situations escalate.
That’s the focus as the St. Thomas Police joins services across Ontario in recognizing Crime Prevention Week, running November 1–7.
This year’s theme is “Protecting Ontario Together,” highlighting the shared responsibility of police, community organizations and residents in preventing crime and building safer communities.
Samantha Wakefield, Corporate Communications Coordinator with the St. Thomas Police Service, says the annual campaign is an opportunity to showcase some of the partnerships that play an important role in local community safety.
Throughout the week, police will be sharing daily features through videos and social media posts, highlighting different teams, organizations, and initiatives that contribute to the well-being of the community.
Residents are encouraged to follow the St. Thomas Police Service on social media throughout Crime Prevention Week to learn more about the programs, partnerships, and resources available locally.
