The RCMP say they have found the bodies believed to be the two B.C. murder suspects wanted in a cross country police chase. On Wednesday afternoon (August 7th) the Manitoba RCMP held a press conference and said they are confident they have located Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam Mcleod, however still have to do an autopsy.
A dive team searched the Nelson River near Gillam, Manitoba earlier this week after finding a boat and personal items belonging to two men. The RCMP says the bodies were found upstream of the Nelson River.
Schmegelsky and Mcleod were suspects in the shootings of a young couple in B.C. last month and have been charged in the death of a 64-year-old professor from the University of British Columbia. They were wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and have been on the run for the past several weeks.
More details will be released as they become available.
