A 19 year old woman has been arrested after she was caught stealing from multiple parked cars in the city. The investigation first began on Tuesday afternoon (Aug 6) after police received a report of a white “Guess” wallet that was stolen from a parked vehicle in a lot near Centre Street and Moore Street.
St. Thomas Police were then called to a disturbance report on Wednesday (Aug 7) afternoon around 3:30 p.m. on Forest Ave near Ross Street where officers discovered a man struggling with a woman. The man reportedly confronted the woman after he witnessed her steal items from his neighbours parked vehicle. Police took the woman into custody and discovered that she was in possession of the white Guess wallet that was stolen the previous day.
As a result the 19 year old St. Thomas woman is being charged with one count Theft Under $5000, one count Utter Threats, one count Assault and one count Trespass to Property. She was held in custody overnight for a court hearing.
