The St. Thomas Police are looking to speak with a woman who had to step out of the way of a drunk driver last night around 7:30 p.m. in the area and Curtis Street and East Street. Around the time of the incident officers observed the woman step out of the way of a vehicle that made a wide turn onto East Street from Curtis Street and hopped the curb. Police stopped the vehicle and upon investigation discovered that they male had been drinking.
The 40 year old male driver was arrested and taken into custody where breath samples were taken at the police station. The test revealed that the driver had four times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. The 40 year old was charged with Impaired Operation and Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus and was released on a promise to appear in court.
Officers did attempt to locate the woman in relations to the incident but she had already left the area. She is described as a middle aged woman with brown hair and wearing a blue shirt. If you are this person or know who she is your are being asked to contact the STPS.
