The Elgin County OPP are increasing the awareness this month during the 25 year anniversary of the murder of Sonya Nadine Cywink. August 26th will mark the 25 year anniversary of the last time Cywink was seen alive in London near the intersection of Dundas Street and Lyle Street around 2 a.m.
Cywink was found deceased at the age of 31 at Southwold Earthworks on Ioana Road in Southwold. The OPP says that there was evidence od trauma to her body which prompted the homicide investigation.
Cywink was living in east London at the time of her death but she is originally from Whitefish River First Nation territory on Manitoulin Island.
The Provincial Government is offering a reward of $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person/persons responsible. If you have any information on Cywink’s death you’re asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
