St. Thomas City Council and Staff are hoping that their explanation will address some of the comments and concerns about the wavy sidewalk on Holland Street. The recently redone sidewalk on the east side of Holland Street has been making waves on social media for its uneven design.
While the sidewalk does have some slight peaks and valleys, it is safe to walk on.
City Engineer Justin Lawrence addressed the sidewalk at council on Monday night.
Lawrence says that the sidewalk is wavy due to the high and low points of the surrounding landscape.
Lawrence says that the $60,000 sidewalk is part of their sidewalk replacement program totalling $375,000 and has added a second sidewalk to Holland Street.
